Work in progress

The London Square is one of the capital's most quintessential features and the properties surrounding them are held in the highest esteem. Behind some of their imposing Georgian facades, we are busy re-envisaging these architectural landmarks in unimaginably ambitious ways.

Belgrave Square

This £16 million project spans 20,000 square feet over a seven-story building. The work involves the structural alterations, extensions and refurbishment of the main building and the redevelopment of the mews house at the rear, with the excavation of an additional basement level. The mews house and courtyard require a façade retention on all floors to link them seamlessly together.

Eaton Square

This 1,700 square foot, 1 bedroom flat may be the ultimate pied-a-terre. We’ve undertaken acoustic flooring and had to ensure the varying sub floor strata were installed at the right height so that all the floor finishes above would be coherent. An elegant glass fireplace is complemented by walls covered with upholstery. Stuc Pierre is meticulously composed to mimic cut stone in the front entrance hall. The client’s gourmet leanings inspired him to install a commercial kitchen to entice Michelin starred chefs to come and cook for him.

St James's Square

This £10 million project is the redevelopment of a prominent Grade II listed building in Pall Mall which overlooks St James’s Square. It was previously a Wilkinson’s headquarters and latterly, a Daimler showroom. There is a great deal of stone work, a façade retention, and a new core throughout.

Orme Square

We are currently involved in a £13 million project to restructure and refurbish a magnificent 200-year-old Grade II listed building annexed to an old coach house, which will extend the living space from 7,000 into 13,000 square feet. We’ve built a two storey 10 metre by 5 metre swimming pool in the basement with an imposing double height floor void above it. The Leighton Wing, constructed during Lord Leighton’s tenancy as the artist’s studio, has been sensitively restored. A pair of arches that formed the original walkway, leading models into the studio, have been reintroduced into the main house as a nod to the property’s illustrious history.

Nettleton Road, South Africa

Nettleton Road in Clifton Bay, Cape Town is one of South Africa’s most exclusive addresses. Cheevers Howard undertook a project management role to create a 22,600 square foot private residence of unparalleled opulence arranged over 7 storeys. The palatial home, comprising 7 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, cinema, gymnasium, spa, sauna, steam room, swimming pool, hot tub, and green roof has been built into the cliff face.
